The mission of the Stratford Girls Lacrosse Club (SGLC) is to grow the club with girls who share core values of honoring the game in competitiveness, safety and character.

Varsity 3rd in State!!

The varsity ended the best season in program history 3rd place in state! In the quarterfinal round, the #2 seed Spartans dispatched Austin McNeil 12-6. We then watched rival Klein lose to Plano in their quarterfinal game, which meant we would be able to play yet another team we had not faced yet in the semis. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be, and we were behind at the end when the clock ran out against Plano. But it was wonderful to see how the girls fought to the end, and showed great class, as always!
A 15-2 overall record, South District D2 champions for the first time, and overall #2 seed in state tournament...what a season! The girls got a great taste of what its like at the top of the mountain in Texas, and will be able to use that experience to grow and build on for the future.

Middle School Team finishes

2nd place in Division!

The Middle School Spartans finished the year strong by taking second in city. They started out the end of season tournament with wins on Saturday against Woodlands, Friendswood and Gulf Coast Storm. Sunday saw a win against Pin Oak and ultimately losing the Championship game to Katy. The Lady Spartans had a phenomenal year. Go Spartans!!

Varsity: District Champs

Varsity took on Klein in the D2 championship game, and it was a doozy from the start! The girls were working so well together, and except for a brief period where Klein went ahead 3-2, and then the 4-4 score at half, the Spartans led most of the game. The second half saw the Spartans turn up the heat on the Bearkats, and ran up their lead to 11-6. That was enough to be able to run the clock out once Klein had gotten the score to 11-9; the Spartans ran their "Ice" stall to perfection to seal the win and the first D2 district championship in program history!

After a 12-1 regular season, with 8-1 record in District play, Varsity earned second seed and a bye, and met St. Pius in the area semifinal round. After a tough first half that saw the Spartans claw their way back from an early 0-3 deficity to a 9-8 lead at halftime, they turned it up a notch in second half and won 19-12, which secures a spot not only in the South District Division 2 Championship game, but also the TGHSLL State Tournament in Austin May 12-13. Way to go, Spartans!

After a difficult season the Lady Spartans JV Team was the #1 seed in the division.  At the End of Season Tournament they beat Awty International in the semi-finals 8-3.  In the championship game against St. Agnes, Stratford jumped out to an early 5-0 lead by halftime.  In the second half, St. Agnes methodically chipped away at the lead.  In the end the Spartans prevailed and won the game 6-5, to be crowned the City Champs!

Congratulations to the Lady Spartans JV team for placing second in the Aggieland Classic tournament.  This is the third year in row the JV team has made it to the championship game.  It was a fun weekend and great way to start off the 2018 season.

Our lacrosse clinics for 2nd-8th grade girls were a huge success on Oct 21 and 28.

We had more than 60 girls come out both weekends and learn to cradle, scoop, dodge, pass, catch and shoot, led by our current high school players, and even one alumnus!

There were lots of smiles, laughs and there might have even been a water balloon fight too!
